Our Lady Robo-Rangers are one of two teams that are advancing to the 2022 FIRST World Championship in April.

We are proud to announce that our Alton Memorial Jr. High - Lady Robo-Rangers FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team #13523 is this seasons FIRST in Texas South Regional Championship - Inspire Award Winners. Our Lady Robo-Rangers are one of two teams that are advancing to the 2022 FIRST World Championship in April.
On March 12, 2022, our Alton Memorial Jr High Lady Robo-Rangers FTC Team #13523 achieved the most coveted award at the FIRST Tech Challenge - South Texas Regional Championship in Harlingen, TX. Our Lady Robo-Rangers #13523 punched their ticket to the 2022 FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX as the FIRST in Texas - South Texas Regional Championship Inspire Award Winners. Our Lady Robo-Rangers achieved this accomplishment by becoming the first middle school team to win the Inspire Award in the Rio Grande Valley at the Regional Championship. The Inspire Award is FTC's most prestigious award which is given to the team that best embodies the "Challenge" of FIRST, the team that is an Inspiration to others acting with Gracious Professionalism and is a strong ambassador for all the FIRST Programs.
Our Lady Robo-Rangers #13523 will now represent all South Texas amongst the Best of the Best from all over the world as one of 160 teams competing world-wide on April 20-23 at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX. This accomplishment is the first of its kind in Mission CISD to have a team win the Inspire Award at the Regional Championship level. Our Lady Robo-Rangers #13523 team was the only middle school team competing against 35 other high school teams. The amount of hard work put into achieving this goal has officially paid off. Our team has been chasing the Inspire Award for five years now and have come really close multiple times at several League Championships, but to achieve this goal at the Regional Championship level speaks volumes on former Lady Robo-Rangers who have paved the way for this current team. Thank You to all the Robo-Rangers Alumni members who still come back to mentor our current Alton Memorial Robo-Rangers. The mentorship provided paved the way and leaves a legacy behind for these ladies to make their own. This win solidifies what our Mighty Robo-Rangers Robotics Program is all about. Robo-Ranger teams have now advanced to the FIRST World Championship at all level programs. FRC #5960 - Mighty Robo-Rangers paved the way with two trips to the World Championship in 2017 and 2018. Then FLL Jr #12275 - The Lil Robo-Rangers Challengers followed with two back-to-back trips of their own to the FIRST World Festival in 2018 and 2019. Our FLL #42827 Jr. Robo-Rangers team advanced in 2019 as the FIRST in Texas South FLL Champions Award Winners in their Rookie Season. Now our Lady Robo-Rangers FTC #13523 team carved out their own piece of history by leaving their mark as the first Mission CISD team to earn the Inspire Award and advance as one of two teams representing the Rio Grande Valley to the 2022 FIRST World Championship. Thank You to an amazing support from our campus administration, coaches/mentors Granados and Rivera, supportive parents, parent volunteers, and all the Robo-Rangers Alumni who always come back to assist their former team. To our Lady Robo-Rangers, your coaches are so proud of the amazing work that was put in this season especially with the pandemic in order to get this far. The journey is not over, we still have one more run next month in April at the 2022 FIRST World Championship. You ladies have officially achieved our team ethos in, "Morphin' the Minds of the Future." Now just enjoy the ride all the way to the SHIP - "The World Championship"
Congratulations Team Captain - Jazlyn Granados, Kayla Cirlos, Jenna Cortez, Erika Faz, Allison Garcia, Alexa Rodriguez, Briana Santoy, and Briseyda Pena.
