Ch. 13 Civil War

If at least 54% of a class answers questions 9-10, that class will earn a letter.  On the back bottom of your homework add the following questions:

      9.     What was the range of the Minie ball?

     10.     Why was the Minie ball such a deadly weapon?

Visit Civil War 150, an interactive website for the answers.  Answer the questions and then explore the rest of the site.  Can't view the site?  Try using Internet Explorer.

No Homework Pass

African slaves came to the Americas on a voyage called the Middle Passage.  Imagine you are a slave aboard a slave ship and write a journal entry of your experience along the Middle Passage.  Journal entry must be at least 5 sentences.  Be descriptive.  Turn in by Wednesday, January 29 for a No Homework Pass for this week.  Need help with your writing?  Try these two links.

Visit San Antonio and walk in the footsteps of Bowie and Travis.  You can also see the final resting place of the Alamo defenders...maybe.

Winter Break Stuff

Still want to do something during the Winter Break?  Have you been reading your AR books?  Check the new class I created for Winter Break activities.

Do you want to read historical fiction about the Texas Revolution?  Then read Journey to the Alamo by Melodie Cuate.  Plus it is an AR Book; BL: 4.5 AR Pts: 4.0.  Still interested?  Read Cuate's other books: Journey to Gonzales, Journey to Goliad, Journey to San Jacinto, Journey to La Salle's Settlement, and Journey to Plum Creek.  All are at least 4.1 BL and 4.0 AR Pts.  There are a couple of copies in the LRC.  They are also available on the Kindle and Nook.

Didn't meet the 2nd Six Weeks test goal?  Finish the book AND the compare/contrast and my heart might grow three times that day.
