Shh...Don't Tell Anyone...Again

Can you tell me why they called Erastus Smith "Deaf?"  Turn in your answer by this Thursday and you will earn a No Homework pass that you can use 1 time from December 12 through January 16.  Thank you 5th Period for this idea.

This is a picture of San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio.  If you are visiting the Alamo, head west on E. Commerce St. and you will see this church.  This church has an interesting link to the Texas Revolution.  If you can briefly tell me the connection between the church and the Texas Revolution, I will give you +20 on Quiz 13.  You can attach your answer to the homework or write it on the back of the quiz.

Watch this video clip...can you identify 6 concepts, vocabulary, people, or places that you have learned about this year?  Congratulations to the 3 of you who earned a No Homework pass for this week.

Mini-Project-Due Monday, November 18

Create an advertisement for your colony in Texas.  Your advertisement can be in the form of a pamphlet, poster, PowerPoint, or video.  Ad Requirements: colony name, location, physical characteristics, land for sale, prices, settler requirements, and colony rules.  Be creative, descriptive, neat, include drawings/pictures, and use correct grammar and spelling.

Aquifers

On a recent trip to San Antonio, I learned more about aquifers from the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA).  Before I left, they gave me resources and trinkets I could share with you.  Answer these questions and earn one of these prizes.  Hint: check the links for an easy way to answer the questions.  Good luck.  Prizes are still available.

Make-Up Assignment

If you need to replace your Ignite! Questions grade here is your one and only chance.  Answer 2 of the 3 parts in this Extra Credit-Extended Thinking assignment and I will change your grade.  If you choose to answer all three parts, I will replace another missing/failing grade.  You can either print out this assignment or answer the parts on your own paper.  This was a limited time offer.
